Why an on-site assessment matters
Every property has a different layout, routine and set of risks. A standard kit may leave important areas uncovered or include equipment that does not suit the site. An on-site security assessment allows WP Security to look at the property as a complete system before recommending an installation.

What the assessment considers
A useful assessment looks beyond the front door. Depending on the property, the review may consider:
- Main and secondary access points
- Gate position and vehicle access
- Garage doors and routes into the home or business
- Boundary walls and possible perimeter approaches
- Areas that may need CCTV coverage
- Doors requiring controlled access
- Existing alarms, electric fencing, intercoms or automation
- Equipment that needs repair, maintenance or replacement
The aim is to understand how people and vehicles move through the property, where visibility may be limited and how different security systems can work together.
Matching systems to the property
The assessment helps identify which services genuinely fit the site. An alarm can be designed around the property’s real risks and configured for the armed response provider chosen by the client. CCTV coverage can be planned around actual blind spots, with remote viewing set up on the client’s devices.
For access points, WP Security can assess whether gate automation, garage door automation or an intercom system would improve control and convenience. Access control may include biometric readers, tags or keypads, depending on who needs to enter and when.

Reviewing existing equipment
An assessment does not always mean starting from scratch. WP Security repairs and maintains security systems of any brand, including equipment installed by other companies. Existing alarms, cameras, gate motors, garage doors, electric fencing and intercoms can be reviewed to determine what can be retained, repaired or improved.
This can be especially useful when a system is unreliable, remote viewing is not working, access equipment is outdated or a gate or garage motor is no longer operating correctly.
From assessment to written plan
WP Security provides a free on-site security assessment, followed by a written report and itemised quote. This gives the property owner a clearer view of the recommended work and the equipment involved before installation begins.
Because clients own their systems outright, they are not locked into renting equipment and can connect to any armed response provider. A properly assessed installation can therefore provide a clearer, more practical foundation for ongoing property security.
